How to Fold an Origami Penguin

Easy level, 9 steps. Traditional. Earliest record: Origami Shuko (Honda), 1944.

All 9 steps

Step 1. Start white side up. Fold in half from corner to corner, then unfold.
Step 2. Fold the upper left edge toward the center line, stopping a little short.
Step 3. Fold the upper right edge the same way.
Step 4. Turn the paper over.
Step 5. Fold the left corner in.
Step 6. Fold the right corner in the same way.
Step 7. Fold the bottom point up.
Step 8. Fold in half, left side over to the right.
Step 9. Fold the top down over the front to make the head. This is an outside reverse fold.
Done. Open the bottom a little so the penguin stands.
